Grade:

The primary responsibility of the MGM Growth Properties (MGP) Executive Director Accounting and Finance is to strategically oversee the accounting and reporting functions of all of MGP. The MGP Executive Director Accounting and Finance is expected to collaborate with MGM Resorts International’s Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting team to make sound business decisions by providing critical business solutions relating to accounting and financial reporting as is addressed in the Corporate Services Agreement between MGM Resorts International and MGP. All duties are to be performed in accordance with department and property policies, practices and procedures.


  • Oversee the review, analysis, confirm and approve of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
  • Meet regularly with MGM Resorts International’s Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting and Internal Audit personnel to understand and provide strategic insight relevant to accounting, reporting and internal control issues.
  • Collaborate with external audit to ensure financial statements, policies and procedures are accurate and in compliance.
  • Oversight and responsibility for preparation of periodic reports to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
  • Review periodic filings with the SEC.
  • Review earnings releases and other publically reported financial information.
  • Manage contractual arrangements, such as lease agreements, for compliance to periodic delivery and maintenance requirements of all parties.
  • Participation in the MGP Disclosure Committee to ensure disclosure controls/ procedures are properly implemented.
  • Develop and maintain automated reports though various distribution channels throughout the company.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to senior executives on how to further optimize the available analytical tools in order to improve the ability to proactively share business insights.
  • Review Registration Statements and Proxy statements from accounting and SEC compliance perspective and provide recommendations to respective departments on these statements.
  • Review and ensure compliance with contractual obligations including credit agreement, bond indentures and lease agreements.
  • Keep current on accounting, company and industry developments to identify accounting issues which might affect the company.
  • Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) compliance related duties as required.
  • Review and approve certain MGP department expenditures.
  • When applicable, oversee Human Resources responsibilities for the specifically assigned areas; creates and maintains a work environment that promotes client services, teamwork, performance feedback, individual recognition, mutual respect and employee satisfaction ensuring quality hiring, training, and succession planning processes that encompass the company’s diversity commitment.
  • Participate in certain corporate finance functions, such as supporting and maintaining the corporate financial model, providing recommendations on managing the capital structure to maintain efficiency and flexibility and managing other related functions as required.
  • Manage certain investor relations functions such as maintenance of shareholder register, communication plan and historical logs, conference coordination and planning and recommendations on target shareholder groups.
  • Participation in other corporate finance related tasks as required.

Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent education and experience
  • 8 years of experience in Accounting/Finance

Preferred:

  • Master's degree (M. A.) or equivalent with emphasis in Accounting or Finance
  • REIT experience
  • Public Accounting experience
  • SEC reporting experience
  • Previous experience working in a similar corporate setting.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

  • CPA license
