Payroll Manager

Job Description

A Payroll Manager Job in Grand Rapids, Michigan is available through Accounting Principals. Qualified candidates will have at least five years of experience in a Payroll position, two in a supervisory capacity, and preferably handling Multi-State Payroll. In this Direct Hire position our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist who has the ability to train others on all aspects of Multi-State Payroll.
 
 
The Payroll Manager Job responsibilities include:
 

  • Responsible for overseeing the Payroll Department and all functions of company Payroll
  • Ensuring that Payroll is processed in a timely and accurate manner within a Multi-State area
  • Prepare reports for upper management and weekly meetings
  • Assists in budget development for the department, manages current budget on a continuous basis
  • Responsible for improving and implementing updated Payroll processes as needed

 
Qualifications:


  • Minimum of five years of continuous experience in a Payroll related position; 2+ years of Supervisory experience
  • Experience working in ADP strongly preferred but equivalent Payroll software being considered
  • Intermediate understanding of MS Excel; ability to create functions and manipulate existing databases
  • Related Bachelor’s degree required, Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
