Hardware Engineer, Sign-On Bonus!

Our customer in Glendale Heights, IL needs contract electrical engineer designer to support new product development
You will design; implement, debug, and support new beverage dispense hardware products.

Responsibilities include designing from requirements, entering schematics, interfacing with PCB and assembly houses, interfacing with software development teams, developing and executing verification tests and writing release documentation of new products. Position will also entail some low level software programming to ensure the


Specific Functions:

  •  Design of beverage dispensing and motion control electronics boards.
  •  Develop complete overall system functionality understanding.
  •  Coordinates project work to meet the completion time and cost limits to the satisfaction of the sponsor.
  •  Work with PCBA supplier to deliver concept, prototype, pilot and production ready PCBA’s, ensure that all documentation required from the supplier at each of the design phases is appropriate and complete.
  • Work with Engineering Technical Service to develop installation, service and troubleshooting documentation.
  •  Work with Manufacturing to develop correct handling, process flows and lead testing equipment development on the line.
  •  Executes in a matrix based organization, responsible for delivering manufacturing system technologies to the project lead. 
  • Effectively apply adaptive thinking to create unique solutions to assigned problems.
  • Design and development of multi-board robust communications hardware.
  •  Familiar with UL 60730 requirements for PCBA design
  •  Familiar with harness drawings are requirements


Job Requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

  •  BSEE or BSEET
  • 7 plus years experience with schematic capture/layout and embedded software.
  • Proven ability to interact, communicate and contribute to software and hardware development process.
  • OrCAD Schematic Capture & PSPICE Experience with Layout abilities a plus.
  • Proven exposure to embedded systems and software.


Additional Skills

  • Use of standard embedded engineering tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, DMM
  • In depth experience using Windows Office package and OS, accessing functions like device manager for connections analysis.
  • Simple programming of PC applications to assist in troubleshooting PCBA boards.
