Today the agency, founded in 1957, is in the vanguard of an extraordinary new movement aimed at replacing outmoded ideas of dependence with visionary strategies designed to enable us all. YAI’s workforce of nearly 5,000 employees, provide information and referral services, early childhood and school age programs, family support services, primary and specialty health care, mental health and rehabilitation services, day services, employment training and placement, and residential opportunities.
