Sadara represents a unique alliance between two corporate giants, each with shared values and distinguished leadership in its respective industry.

Saudi Aramco, one of the leading energy suppliers to the world, and The Dow Chemical Company, a leading science and technology company of the world, have formed a joint venture, Sadara Chemical Company (Sadara), which will construct, own and operate a world-scale integrated chemicals complex in Jubail Industrial City II, in the Eastern Province of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Once completed, the Sadara complex will represent the largest petrochemical facility ever built in a single phase. Sadara and the adjoining PlasChem Park will establish a world-scale manufacturing footprint that delivers a full range of value-added, performance products destined for the emerging markets of Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and Africa.
Corporate Citizenship

Economic Diversification:

Sadara is a relevant and meaningful contributor to the Saudi Arabian economic agenda. As a standalone enterprise, Sadara represents the largest foreign direct investment in the Saudi petrochemical industry.

Once fully operational, Sadara shall contribute significantly to the country's industrial diversification by providing additional value chains within both the Sadara complex and the industrial "Plaschem Park" currently being developed in conjunction with the Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu. The diversity of the products from Sadara will complement the existing materials available in Jubail-I and II to attract additional foreign direct investment and diversification of Saudi Arabia's economic base. Ultimately, Sadara is an active contributor to Saudi Arabia’s strategy to become not only a strategic chemicals and plastics producer, but also a hub for future downstream industrialization.

Sadara and related investments are expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities. Sadara has already recruited over 500 apprentices who are now undergoing comprehensive and competitive manufacturing and engineering training programs, in state-of-the-art training centers both inside and outside of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Corporate Social Responsibility:

Sadara and its sponsors – Dow and Saudi Aramco – are each committed to promoting and delivering the highest standards of operational safety and environmental sustainability in all their operations around the world.

Throughout the conceptualization and engineering design stage of Sadara, project teams from Dow, Saudi Aramco and the Project Management Contractors have all complied with, and actually promoted, a positive culture of environment, health and safety. Now, the entire Sadara organization, as well as teams currently working on the engineering, procurement and construction aspects of the complex, are continuing with this enduring commitment. The technologies selected for Sadara’s world scale integrated chemical complex are among the world's most advanced and energy efficient.
