Overview
For 80 years, Methodist Health System has served families and communities in North Texas with compassionate, award-winning health care.

Methodist Health System has been named by the Dallas Business Journal as one of DFW’s Best Places to Work in 2007, 2006, and 2005. We’ve also received the national Premier Award for Quality in maternal and neonatal care in 2007 and 2006. Methodist is one of only three hospitals nationwide to receive this recognition.

Methodist Health System offers a broad spectrum of health care services with over 800 independently practicing physicians on our medical staff, representing more than 60 medical specialties. These include extensive cardiac care and cancer services; gastroenterology; neurology; adult kidney, pancreas and liver transplant; obstetrics and gynecology; orthopedics; urology; and bariatric (weight-loss) surgery.

As one of Dallas’ oldest and best-respected nonprofit health systems, the Methodist family continues its legacy of providing our local communities with the best and brightest in medical care.

Methodist Dallas Medical Center, is a 515-bed teaching hospital and referral center. Methodist Dallas’ outstanding kidney, liver, and pancreas transplantation program as well as gastroenterology, oncology, neurology, and orthopedic services draws more than 140,000 patients each year – and more than 3,600 babies are born at Methodist Dallas annually. Methodist Dallas is also a Level II trauma center, one of only three trauma centers in Dallas County. The Sam & Anne Kesner Heart Center, located on the Methodist Dallas campus, offers the full spectrum of cardiovascular interventions, including cardiothoracic surgery, electrophysiology, interventional radiology, and cardiac catheterization.

Methodist Dallas has been recognized with the prestigious Premier Award for Quality in maternity care, and its Level III neonatal intensive care unit is a referral center for more than 30 hospitals in North and East Texas. Methodist Dallas is also designated as a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.

Methodist Charlton Medical Center is a 254-bed general acute care and community hospital that serves southwest Dallas County. Methodist Charlton is currently undergoing a comprehensive multimillion-dollar renovation that includes a new 80-bed patient tower, and expanded surgical and patient care capabilities. Methodist Charlton also offers full-service cardiovascular services, including cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology. Its recently updated Maternity Center offers quality, compassionate care for mothers and newborns, including a Level II Special Care Nursery, and the Fertility Center at Methodist Charlton has helped many local couples become parents. The Family Practice Residency Program that trains more than 20 residents each year is also based at Methodist Charlton.

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center opened in December 2006, and serves the growing population of Mansfield and surrounding communities in Tarrant County. Designed with patient-centric amenities and some of the latest advances in medical technology, the 80-bed Methodist Mansfield offers a full complement of health care services, including a cardiac catheterization lab, a Level II Special Care Nursery, and all-digital radiology.
