Since 1971 Hegira Programs, Inc. (HPI) has been a leader in behavioral healthcare. Today HPI is one of Michigan’s largest freestanding behavioral healthcare organizations, providing a wide variety of mental health and substance use disorder treatment for individuals of all ages.

For more than a quarter century, Hegira has pledged to meet the diversified needs of our community. Confirming our commitment to excellence, HPI maintains extensive insurance panel memberships, a long history of funding from various governmental agencies and the continuation of Accreditation by The Joint Commision since 1978.
Philosophical Foundation

The field of health care is an expansive spectrum which is in a process of rapid change. Behavioral health care is an essential element within the changing health care environment. Effective behavioral health and related services are best provided and managed through a network of care. The network must be responsive and sensitive to customer needs of both public and private sectors.
