Amalgamated Life Insurance was founded in 1943 to protect the financial well being of working men and women. Sidney Hillman, President of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers of America (ACWA) envisioned a cooperative, labor-oriented, cost-effective means of delivering collectively bargained insurance and pension services to union participants.

For more than six decades Amalgamated Life has been committed to employees with exceptional benefit solutions. Amalgamated Life specializes in providing group life and disability insurance, medical stop-loss insurance, health and pension administration, and support for trade union and non-union sponsored groups.

Amalgamated Life has grown into a diversified company whose affiliates include third party administration – Alicare, Inc.: a medical management company – Alicare Medical Management; a computer service company – Alicomp, Inc.; a full service property and casualty brokerage firm – Amalgamated Agency; and a printing and graphics company – AliGraphics.

For 39 consecutive years Amalgamated Life has maintained an “A” Rating (Excellent) with A.M. Best Company, America’s leading rating agency for insurance companies.
Amalgamated Life’s corporate headquarters are located at 333 Westchester Avenue, White Plains, NY. Alicare Medical Management has offices in Manchester, NH and Norristown, PA. Alicomp operates out of Leonia, NJ.
