Warner Music Group Corp. (NYSE: WMG) is the world's only publicly-traded major music company and comprises an array of businesses aimed at helping artists achieve long-term creative and financial success while providing consumers with the highest-quality music content available. WMG is engaged in the recorded music business (including artist services) and the music publishing business.

WMG is a global leader in national and international repertoire and home to some of the best-known labels in the recorded music industry including Asylum, Atlantic, Cordless, East West, Elektra, Nonesuch, Reprise, Rhino, Roadrunner, Rykodisc, Sire, Warner Bros., Warner Music Nashville and Word. In addition to its U.S. labels, WMG operates through numerous affiliates and licensees in more than 50 countries. Our recorded music business includes our growing artist services business, which offers artist management, merchandising, touring, fan clubs, VIP ticketing, sponsorships and brand endorsements, and numerous third-party solutions that facilitate the sale of music-based content directly to consumers. Our artist services business works with WMG artists as well as artists not otherwise signed to WMG labels.

Our primary music publishing business, Warner/Chappell Music, is one of the world's leading music publishers, with a catalog of more than one million songs from more than 65,000 songwriters, and includes Non-Stop Music, a full service music production library company.

In recent years, we've grown to become the world's third-largest recorded music business and third-largest music publishing business and, during a time of dramatic industry transition, have established ourselves as one of the music industry's most successful companies.

Some recent achievements include:

  • Delivering the greatest U.S. Total Album market share increase of all major music companies between 2004 and 2010, according to Nielsen/SoundScan data;

  • Having the No. 1 label in the U.S. in 2005 and 2007 (Warner Bros.), and 2008 and 2009 (Atlantic), according to Nielsen/SoundScan data;

  • Delivering a greater than 20% U.S. Total Album share every year since 2006;

  • Aggressively growing new revenue streams, including expanding our interests in non-traditional businesses, as well as growing our digital revenue in Q2 2011 to nearly 40% of our worldwide Recorded Music business;

  • Atlantic Records being cited by the New York Times in 2008 as the first major label to achieve digital revenue in excess of 50% of its U.S. physical and digital sales revenue;

  • Delivering five of the U.K.'s top 12 albums in Q2 2011 for a 15% Total Album share, according to Music & Copyright, the only major music company to grow share in the quarter;

  • Warner/Chappell being named in 2010 as "Publisher of the Year" at the 58th annual BMI Pop Awards;

  • Sustaining our lead in the independent music distribution business with Alternative Distribution Alliance (ADA), which was the No.1 U.S. independent distributor for six consecutive years through 2010, according to Nielsen/SoundScan data;

  • Consistently showing environmental leadership in the music industry through its WMGreen initiative, including WEA Corp.'s paper procurement practices that the Natural Resources Defense Council called "the most progressive of any music company on Earth";

  • Being named one of America's "Most Admired Companies" by Fortune Magazine in 2007;

  • Being recognized in 2009 by Fast Company magazine as one of the world's "50 Most Innovative Companies"; and

  • Aggressively building our artist services strategy to include an array of new businesses while increasing the number of expanded rights agreements we have with recording artists, which now includes more than half of our active global recorded music roster.
