its more than 1,200 associates, approximately nine percent have been with Ohio
National 20 years or more and 32 percent have been with Ohio National for more
than 10 years.
Ohio National experiences a voluntary turnover rate that is about half the
industry average. In the past 12 months, the turn-over rate at Ohio National
has been very low. Less than 5.5 percent of associates left Ohio National to
seek employment elsewhere.
National continues to experience significant sales growth in its core product
areas. For the 25th consecutive year, Ohio National grew its individual life
insurance sales in 2014. An unmatched record in the industry, a record-breaking
total of $150.7 million of new annual premium was reported for individual life insurance,
up 11.3 percent from 2013. Variable annuity sales totaled $2.3 billion. Core
earnings grew to $197.4 million.
National’s community engagement also contributes to its strong corporate
culture. Ohio National’s 10th and 11th Habitat for Humanity homes were
constructed in Cincinnati during 2014. In recognition of its centennial in
2009, Ohio National made a $780,000 gift to Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity,
the largest one-time gift in the local group’s history. Ohio National also
donated more than $500,000 in 2014 for eight additional homes. Since its
inception in 1987, the Ohio National Foundation has donated more than $17
million to non-profit organizations in the Greater Cincinnati area.
Ohio National donated $29,000 to enrich the lives of children with
life-threatening medical conditions through an ongoing agreement with the
Make-A-Wish Foundation®, bringing a total of more than $200,000 donated to
Make-A-Wish® for the past five years of the program. During 2014, 2,939 Ohio
National contract owners consented to e-delivery of their prospectuses and
annual/semiannual reports. By electing this option, these individuals have
chosen a delivery option that’s ecofriendly. In turn, Ohio National makes a $10
donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® for each individual variable product
owner switching to paperless delivery.

given. At Ohio National, 85 percent of associates chose to complete the survey.
This is the sixth year the Top Workplaces project was sponsored by Enquirer
Media and conducted by survey partner WorkplaceDynamics, a firm which has
surveyed thousands of companies across the country since 2006. In Cincinnati,
149 companies participated in the survey this year.
