Affinity Hosts New York’s Largest Easter Egg Hunt Thousands Flock to Queens for Candy, Music and Pony Rides Bronx, NY (April 10, 2007) –Affinity Health Plan hosted New York’s largest Easter egg hunt on Saturday, April 7 at St. Alban’s Park in Queens. Co-sponsored by Majority Leader Leroy Comrie and WBLS-FM, thousands of community members, including hundreds of children, enjoyed a fun-filled day of rides and activities, including informational seminars regarding health and wellness. Affinity’s 2007 Easter Egg Hunt, free and open to the public, featured a golden egg scavenger hunt in addition to pony rides, contests, prizes, musical performances and health info. The event included two hunts; one for children ages 1-5 and another for ages 6-12. The event culminated with the announcement of the two golden egg winners who received large Easter baskets, tickets to Six Flags Great Adventure, and a special prize from WBLS. Two silver egg winners were awarded large Easter baskets and movie tickets to “Are We Done Yet?” and “Meet the Robinsons.” “Affinity's annual Easter Egg Hunt gives us the opportunity to show our appreciation to the Queens community,” stated Abbe Abboa-Offei, Affinity’s vice president of customer service and public affairs. “We see many of the same families year after year, which lets us know that this Queens event is one that should continue for many years to come.” The Easter Egg Hunt is one of many events Affinity holds throughout the year within the communities it serves. “We recognize that good health is more than just the absence of illness and injury,” says Maura Bluestone, President and CEO of Affinity Health Plan. “As a result, we offer a variety of community-based events, such as the annual Easter egg hunt, to provide enjoyment for the families and communities we serve.”
