Pella Corporation

Creating a Better View Innovative products from an industry leader
Pella Corporation is an innovative leader in creating a better view for homes and businesses by designing, testing, manufacturing and installing quality windows and doors for new construction, remodeling and replacement applications. As a family-owned and professionally managed privately-held company, Pella is known for its history of innovation, making outstanding products, providing quality service and delivering on customer satisfaction. Headquartered in Pella, Iowa, the company provides careers for about 8,200 team members and is committed to incorporating new technologies, increasing productivity, and practicing environmental stewardship.

Raising standards, expanding view
Pella Corporation was founded in 1925 as the Rolscreen® Company. Initially, the company was most widely known for its “disappearing” Rolscreen® window screen. Updated in its design and still popular today, the patented Rolscreen insect screen rolls out of sight when not in use. Pella patio doors and storm doors also feature Rolscreen technology. The company name changed to Pella Corporation in 1992, to better reflect its entire product offering. Today the Pella® family of brands offers quality residential and commercial products in a variety of types and styles to meet virtually any design or budget.
Longtime leader in sustainability, environmental stewardship
Pella’s commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainability is firmly rooted in the company’s culture and has been since it was founded in 1925. A member of the United States Green Building Council (USGBC), Pella encourages the use of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)® certification process and offers products that can contribute to certification of buildings.

Extensive sales and service network serves customers
Early in its history, Pella built a dedicated national sales and service organization for its products, which now serves customers throughout North America and in other select countries. Today, the Pella direct sales network operates Pella Window & Door Showrooms serving major markets across the U.S. and Canada, designed to help customers make the most informed window and door decisions, and, if needed, to provide professional support after the sale. In 1992, Pella entered the national retail market with windows and patio doors, adding select lumberyard distribution in 1994. In 2001, Pella and Lowe’s® introduced the Pella® Design Centers (PDC) to assist consumers with their window and door needs. Located exclusively at Lowe’s, the Pella Design Center is a “store-within-a-store,” featuring informative world-class merchandising displays, staffed by Lowe’s associates trained to take the complexity out of window and door purchases. Pella manufactures energy-efficient windows, patio doors and entry door systems sold through a Direct Sales Network operating Pella Window & Door Showrooms across the United States and Canada and select building materials retailers, including Lowe’s®. Employee Testimonials “Before working for Pella, in my previous company, I had the opportunity to work with Pella Team members. They always impressed me with their professional and friendly attitude and commitment to continuous improvement. At that time I decided that if an opportunity presented itself that I would like to be a part of the Pella team. As fate would have it the opportunity did come along and here I am. Since being at Pella I have felt at home and part of a family of diverse people with a common purpose in mind: To put out the best windows and doors out there while being committed to safety and respect for all employees regardless of their background.” Nasir, Senior Engineer - Gettysburg, PA “I really enjoy working for Pella for several reasons. The first is because of how much they care about their people. From profit sharing to occasional treats, there is a variety of ways appreciation for our hard work is shown. I also enjoy the people I work with and the values of a Midwest-based company with an opportunity to work on the West Coast. The company’s ideals and values are very similar to my own. I love learning about continuous improvement principles and applying them to the manufacturing floor. To see your idea become the standard practice on a manufacturing line is very gratifying. As a female engineer, it’s great to work for a team that values all team members.” Christine, Engineer – Portland, OR “As a ‘seasoned’ team member, I continue to work at Pella Corporation because I appreciate the honesty, dedication, and hard work--still the heart and core of the company. Pella's founder, Pete Kuyper, was successful with his dedication to grow a successful company. I believe my contributions help in carrying on this tradition of producing a quality product and selling it to a satisfied customer.” Andy, Logistics – Pella, IA
