Overview
SAIF Corporation is the leading provider of workers' compensation insurance in Oregon. Created by the Legislature in 1914 as the State Industrial Accident Commission, it was converted in 1980 to a self-supporting, not-for-profit, publicly owned company. Today, SAIF Corporation offers its customers a variety of services including claims management, marketing, underwriting, vocational rehabilitation, return-to-work, investigation, loss control, industrial hygiene and legal representation. The company's mission is to make insurance available to as many Oregon employers as inexpensively as may be consistent with protecting the integrity of the Industrial Accident Fund and sound principles of insurance.

Mission
SAIF Corporation’s mission is contained in Oregon Revised Statutes Chapter 656.752. The statute directs SAIF “To make insurance available to as many Oregon employers as inexpensively as may be consistent” with protecting the integrity of the Industrial Accident Fund and sound principles of insurance.

We believe that our statutory mission gives SAIF the direction to be the leading competitive force in Oregon’s workers’ compensation insurance market, by making insurance widely affordable and available while delivering outstanding service to workers and employers.
People
More than 650 people work at our corporate headquarters in Salem, Oregon, with 90 more in our Portland branch and service center. Another 60 work in our branch offices around the state, in Baker City, Bend, Eugene, Medford, North Bend, Roseburg and Pendleton.
