Job Description

Cascade Health Services is a healthcare staffing company in business since 1988. We provide nurses and other healthcare employees to Missouri & Kansas hospitals & other facilities on a PRN, Perm, Travel/Contract basis. We currently have 4 offices throughout Kansas and Missouri, and are considering opening another in MO this year. We are always looking for additions to our team that will be long term employees who want to grow with Cascade and make this their career. This is an entry level position. There is definitely room to grow and advance. Many of our nearly 40 office staff have been with Cascade for 5+ years; several over 10 years. We employ around 800 Nurses, CNA's etc.

*THIS position (NKC OFFICE) is currently-------------- NOT OPEN as of 7/13/2017
*Note- we filled a position recently, and have had to open another due to growth; not resignations!
 
1.  NCK Office- Staffing Manager

  • Work in the NKC office Mon-Fri between 8am-530pm, staffing RN’s, LPN’s & CNA’s
  • Managing territory of accounts within KS & MO
  • Prefer Healthcare experience or background (an LPN would be a great addition to our team- although not required)
  • Prefer someone with an understanding of various hospital and LTC units: MS, ER, CVICU, SNF etc. and understanding of credentials such as ENPC, ACLS, NRP etc.
  • Will consider quick learner in place of healthcare background
  • Someone who is creative minded and almost of a sales mindset does best
  • Fast pace, multi task, & able to handle interruptions & get back on track is imperative
  • There is NEVER down time. You must be able to manage multiple phone lines, talking to hospital or nursing home staffing personnel or Directors of Nursing and also to employees who call in constantly and all must be typed into our computer program
  • Someone who is outgoing and can talk to all different types of people is imperative 
  • Thinking outside the box is a huge must for success
  • Nurses will also assist with occasional PPD's in our office clinic
Compensation Range:    $30-40,000 base plus bonuses & benefits. Bonuses typically range about $1000 to $2000  monthly (earned weekly; paid out biweekly).  $45k to $70k typical annual total comp; dependent somewhat on the success of the individual and the team.

2.  After Hours- Staffing Manager (Mostly At Home Position)

  • Work from home staffing RN’s, LPN’s & CNA’s
  • Must have "office" or desk area to work, near router & good computer. Cascade provides a 10 line office phone that operates through your internet
  • Must have a decent computer that you'll use while on shift
  • Will work 40-45 hours average weekly/Hours could be any hours outside of 830a-430p M-F (IE: you might work MON 7p-3a,   TUES 5p-8p/ 3a-9a,   WED & THUR off,   FRI 5p-midnite,   SAT 11a-730p,   SUN 7p-3a  --this is an example of a possible schedule)
  • Will work some hours in the NKC office. Usually no more than one day every week or so (then your at home hours are reduced). Monthly meetings in the NKC office usually occur also.
  • Weekends & Holidays are mandatory (Sat/Sun & holidays) 
  • We currently have 7 After Hours Staffers, and typically 2-3 people work at the same time
  • This is not an at home position in which you can perform other activities during your 40-45 hours weekly . You MUST be at your desk, with no people or animals or other non allowed distractions during your shift. You do get breaks and a lunch break.
  • No unsupervised children - meaning that you must have your children at a sitter's house OR minimally, and with full disclosure to the director of staffing operations, you can have a sitter or family member at your home tending to children (but you must have a fully quiet location to work)

3.  Staffing Manager - Hybrid Position

  • This position is a combination of the Staffing Manager After Hours position & the NKC Office Staffing Manager position
  • Read both job descriptions to understand the duties/responsibilities
  • The hours for this position will definitely include about an 8 hour shift every Saturday and Sunday performing After Hours Staffing Management from home. From there, we could ask for 3 days in the NKC office (traditional hours) OR we could ask for one additional after hours/home "shift", and 2 days in the NKC office. 
  • Anticipated days off would be Thursday and Friday

Job Requirements

  • Prefer healthcare background
  • Strong typing skills (you type during your entire shift)
  • Someone who likes to work with the public in person and on the phone with a very diverse population
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
  • People management or shift supervision experience would be a huge plus, and would lend to potential advancement
  • LPN/Nurse preferred but not required
