The Intermediate Evaluation Psychologist provides psychological evaluation and/or family assessments within a comprehensive, multidisciplinary evaluation program for youth referred by the juvenile courts or Department of Children and Families.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducts and completes program specific written evaluations, including psychological testing, in-home family assessments, comprehensive record reviews; provides integrated and comprehensive clinical conceptualizations and formulates diagnosis in accordance with the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM).
Takes lead for core assessments to support Psychologist Program/Manager during periods of high referral volume in order to ensure timely completion of all evaluations.
Interacts with youth and families and conducts assessments from a strengths-based perspective, with sensitivity to issues of gender and trauma and with understanding and respect for family culture and linguistic preference.
Participates in the development of recommendations that are strengths-based and individualized based on evaluation results, with an emphasis on maintaining the youth in the community with wraparound supports wherever possible.
Demonstrates knowledge of psychopathology and other behavioral health concerns, family dynamics, and primary modalities of psychotherapeutic intervention.
Triages clinical emergencies and implements program specific safety and consultation protocols.
Makes recommendations in accordance with best practices and evidenced based practice models where appropriate and adheres to model and program expectations.
Demonstrates knowledge of juvenile court processes and protocols, internal and external levels of care and referral processes and community resources.
Communicates, orally and in writing, in a positive, effective manner with client, family, and all internal and external providers.
Attends and provides strengths based input in required meetings, including multi-disciplinary IE case reviews and child and family team meetings.
Meets direct service productivity goals and evaluation deadlines as defined by program.
Demonstrates knowledge of program/department/agency goals and target outcomes, and adheres to practice standards and to data collection and reporting protocols.
Attends and is prepared for scheduled supervision. Seeks additional supervision or
consultation as needed and follows through with supervisory directives.
Coordinates multi-disciplinary components of individual evaluations to ensure timely completion.
Adheres to all agency and department policies and procedures (e.g., confidentiality, reports child abuse, safety & infection control. etc.) and displays excellent work habits (e.g., provides excellent service, attendance and promptness at work and meetings, timeliness in completing work).
Demonstrates sound judgment and decision-making by maintaining the ability to plan, organize, disseminate information, and analyze and resolve problems.

REQUIREMENTS/EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Must have experience in providing psychological assessment, particularly with court involved youth, and with family assessment.
Must have a Doctoral degree (Psy.D. or Ph.D.) and must be a Licensed Psychologist in the state of CT.
