Job Description

Prestigious San Francisco plaintiff personal injury boutique has full-time litigation paralegal position for individual with at 3 - 5 years experience in personal injury/medical malpractice/product liability litigation.  Will be assigned to cases and work with all of the attorneys, responding to discovery requests, initiating and managing discovery and handling other standard paralegal duties.  Full benefits with competitive salary offered. Professional, friendly environment; hours 9:00 to 5:00.

The benefit package would include two weeks vacation after the first year; three weeks of vacation after completion of the second year. Employees receive one paid sick day per month, and presently 12 paid holidays.  They also provide medical and dental coverage for our employees, with the option to contribute on your own for dependent coverage. All employees have life insurance in an amount equal to two times their annual base salary, short-term and long-term disability insurance, as well as accidental death and dismemberment coverage. Employees are eligible for inclusion in the firm's profit sharing plan after meeting eligibility requirements.  A Commuter Check program, allowing for pre-tax deductions from salary to offset commute costs is offered. They also provide a 401(k) plan for which employees are eligible after three months of employment. Under the plan, the employer matches 50% of the employee’s first 6% of compensation.  

Job Requirements

Must have paralegal certificate from ABA-approved school, some knowledge of medical terminology and records, and expertise in initiating and managing discovery.  Bilingual in Spanish or Chinese is a plus but not required.  Must have good client interaction; the ability to multi-task, be proactive and organized. Must have some expertise in initiating and managing discovery. Must exhibit grace under pressure.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills
  • ABA or other paralegal certification
  • Strong emphasis in responding to discovery requests
  • Experience with medical malpractice, medical device failure, etc.
  • Knowledge of medical charts, and ability to summarize medical bills

Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Access database.  Minimum of five years experience.  Plaintiff's background.  Excellent writing and communication skills.  Strong emphasis in responding to discovery requests.  Experience with medical malpractice, medical device failure, etc. Knowledge of medical charts, and ability to summarize medical bills.
