Built in 1988, Heritage Oaks Hospital has long been highly regarded as an integral part of the greater Sacramento and northern California mental health system.  Conveniently located in the northern part of Sacramento, Heritage Oaks is a fully accredited 125-bed acute psychiatric facility offering a full range of individually tailored treatment services to adolescents, adults and senior adults.  Heritage Oaks provides confidential no-cost assessments as a community service. The hospital is a  Medicare provider, and has contracts with most commercial health insurance plans, Medi-Cal and Medicare HMOs. The candidate selected will be responsible for the following:
The therapist performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs while enabling them, through therapeutic treatment skills, to achieve their optimal level of emotional health, including providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed.
 
 

Job Requirements

Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university, in Social Work or a related mental health field and LCSW or MFT. Non-licensed applicants will not be considered.  Please do not apply if you do not have a LCSW or LMFT in good standing.

Experience: Therapist requires a minimum of one year of experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills. Strong CD experience preferred.
