Job Description

Quality Engineer

Growing and stable tier one supplier of precision machined engine and transmission components is launching several new components. This corporation is very busy, running to capacity and enjoying increased sales. Our client has a low cost medical insurance plan and team orientated environment. The company has a history of promoting internally. They promoted their Quality Manager into a key upper management role. Our client is proud of their quality system and continue to improve.

We are searching for candidates with 5 years plus of Quality Engineering in a machining or high volume manufacturing environment. Candidates with ASQ Quality Engineering or Management certifications are preferred. Interested candidates will need the ability to develop inspection plans, SPC plans and specify measuring tools. Past experience documenting PPAP, FMEA, control plans, work instructions and process flow diagrams is required. Knowledge of advanced problem solving techniques and six sigma tools is preferred. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the AIAG core tools and document formats. Good metrology skills and Gd&T is needed. Candidates with the ability to audit process and systems are also preferred. Quality Engineers will need good communication skills and the ability to work in a team orientated work environment. Past experience as a team member or leading teams is a plus.

Job Requirements

MUST HAVE: 5 years of Quality Engineering in a machining / manufacturing environment. Experience preparing PPAP, FMEA, control plans, work instructions, process flow diagrams and corrective actions is required. Knowledge of the use of gauges and measuring tools along with the ability to train others is preferred.
