Engineering Job Description & Responsibilities

Create CAD (Catia/NX) parametric math models for BIW using Knowledge Based Engineering template modeling techniques.

Demonstrate extensive knowledge of Catia/NX modeling and developing / packaging / synthesizing complex vehicle systems.

Dictate architecture and construction techniques

Create master development / packaging / requirement sections

Define master template modeling structures,

Train other Catia/NX engineers on modeling techniques, architecture.   

Partner closely with Studio Engineering in applying the latest in parametric design tools to develop feasibility.

Develop and apply KBE studies and part templates in CATIA V5 and NX based on OEM SOPs. This Coordinate with other vehicle systems to document SOPs and develop consistent vehicle level relationships.

Support application work like: component/systems for theme feasibility and for production release

Focus on Body-in-White development, multi material, multi process & bench marking for future development.

Job Requirements

Required Engineering Experience & Skills

5+ years of experience in body engineering (body, exterior, and/or Body-in-White)


3+ parametric design experience in CATIA V5 or NX

1 year or more of experience with Vehicle assembly and system & component tooling

Strong communication, issue resolution and interpersonal skills

Engineering Education Required

Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical , Aeronautical or Electrical Engineering
