Registered Nurse – RN

Job Responsibilities

 

As a Registered Nurse you will be responsible for providing direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses. Also, you will be administrating medication and treatments, and delegating or assigning aspects of patient care to healthcare team members commensurate with their validated competency to perform the task.

 

Additional duties for this nursing healthcare role include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Coordinating patients’ care through collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team
  • Performing assessments as per unit standards and documents on appropriate data base
  • Identifying and meeting patient and family learning and discharge needs on admission and throughout episode of care
  • Evaluating patient progression toward outcomes per unit standards and documenting through EOSS
  • Assuming responsibility for the clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel
  • Completing patient population/age-specific/procedure and protocol education and competency testing per unit standards
  • Assisting in orientation of new staff or students, and service as subject matter expert

It is also important that you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with a diverse population.

 

Specific qualifications for this nonprofit healthcare role include:

 

  • RN or BA Degree in Nursing
  • Valid RN Registered Nurse license in the state of New York
  • Prior experience in a residential setting or in the mental health field is strongly preferred
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office pack
