Job Description

Formulation Scientist I

  • Assist Wellness Product Design scientists with project related laboratory work.
  • Conduct work in a manner compliant with applicable federal, state and local regulations and company policies.
  • Work in the lab making prototype scale batches using manufacturing equipment including, but not limited to blenders, tablet presses, coating pans.
  • Perform physical testing including hardness, ring shear, colorquest, bulk/tapped density.
  • Prepare GMP batches – larger versions of prototype scale.
  • Prepare GMP/technical documents.
  • Document all lab activities in electronic laboratory notebook.
  • Support scale-up work in pilot plant.
  • Perform data analysis.
  • Work in lab making prototype scale batches on small scale equipment.

Job Requirements

Formulation Scientist I


  • BS or MS degree in Chemistry, Biology or some other related discipline.
  • Familiarity with GMPs.
  • Understand product development in both a development and cGMP manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in excel.
  • Experience with powers and formulations preferred.  
  • Ability to run pilot equipment such as a blender, tablet press, coating preferred.
  • Experience with cGMP practices preferred.
