Water Resource Engineer

Impact Staffing Group has been selected by a well-respected, multi-disciplined engineering design and consulting to recruit the right candidate for a Water Resource Engineer for their rapidly growing organization. This position is a full-time, direct hire position with excellent benefits and a very competitive salary.

About the Job

The Water Resource Engineer is responsible for the provision of clean water, disposal of waste water and sewage, and the prevention of flood damage. The job involves repairing, maintaining and building structures that control water resources (for example, sea defense walls, pumping stations and reservoirs). Global warming, ageing infrastructure, population growth, and higher quality living standards are just some of the challenges a Water Resource Engineer will address. Water Resource Engineers have many responsibilities, both technical and non-technical. They ensure that citizens are provided with a continuous supply of clean, uncontaminated water for drinking, living, and recreational purposes. Water Resource Engineers not only design water management systems, but often oversee the construction and maintenance of these systems as well. They demonstrate a genuine knowledge and interest of the water industry and environmental issues.

The position is in Raleigh, NC.

Job Responsibilities/Duties

 Responsible charge of all aspects of a surveying and geomatics group (field and office) consisting of several field crews and supporting technical staff involved with public and private sector land improvement projects.

 Business development, planning, organizing and supervising survey crews, technicians and other staff members.

 Initiate and maintain contact with key personnel and officials of organizations and companies.

 Prepare proposals, administer contracts and manage projects, interpret, organize, execute and coordinate assignments.

 Schedule and assign work to meet completion dates.

 Plan and develop surveying projects with unique or controversial problems.

Job Requirements

 BS in Civil Engineering or related engineering degree

 EIT certification required

 1 plus years of experience in water resources ideal; will consider new Civil Engineering Graduates with Water related work/education.

 Working knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, and storm water management.

 Demonstrated knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulics analysis is required.

 FEMA flood studies, floodplain analysis and hazards analysis experience preferred.

 Knowledge of storm water management and water quality modeling is a plus.

 Experience in performing surface water analysis using HEC-1, HEC-2, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Geo-RAS, Geo-HMS and experience with ESRI ArcGIS software is highly preferred.

 Proficiency in basic Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel is required.

 Must be able to pass drug screen, background check and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy.
