Job Description

Absolute Machine Tools, Inc. has an immediate need for an Information Technology Manager based out our Lorain, OH headquarters.  The IT Manager is responsible for the overall planning, organization, and execution of all IT functions at four office locations. This includes directing all IT operations to meet organizational requirements as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions.


Job Responsibilities

  • Maintains organization’s effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.

  • Directs technological research by studying organization goals, strategies, practices, and user projects.

  • Analyzes business needs presented by users and recommends technical solutions with completion timeline.

  • Produces detailed timeline for each application release and implements effective project control by monitoring the progress of the software release and reporting the status.
  • Verifies application results by conducting system audits of technologies implemented.

  • Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and control structures.

  • Recommends information technology strategies, policies, and procedures by evaluating organization outcomes; identifying problems; evaluating trends; anticipating requirements.

  • Accomplishes financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective action.

  • Installs hardware and peripheral components such as monitors, keyboards, printers on users’ premises.

  • Loads appropriate software packages such as operating systems, networking components and office applications.

  • Administers Email and anti-virus systems.

  • Develops and maintains a thorough understanding of all software applications utilized by organization including, Microsoft Office, MAS 200 (Sage1), ACT (Sage1), and ServiceMax (Salesforce).

  • Troubleshoot and resolve user issues relative to all corporate software in a timely manner.

  • Participates on all hardware and software evaluations and maintains vendor contracts.

  • Participates in preparation for IT needs at Trade Shows as necessary.

  • Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.

  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.

Job Requirements

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Position is full-time salaried position, Monday through Friday, with standard hours 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  However, this position is on-call 24/7 and may require additional work day hours and occasion weekend work.


Travel is primarily local, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.  Interoffice travel between Elgin IL, Livonia MI, Mason OH, and Lorain OH will be most frequent overnight travel – as required.


Required Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in computer science or related field or related experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience within information technology.

  • Experience in the most current technologies and products used in the industry.


    Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience with MAS 200 and ACT helpful.
