Job Description

gente is seeking an HR Consultant to serve as a dedicated HR resource to clients as well as lead and support various HR projects. As an employee of gente, you’ll be a part of our dynamic team of experienced, HR professionals dedicated to providing our clients with outstanding HR leadership and support.   gente consultants primarily support small to mid-size companies within a variety of industries, including for-profit, government, and not-for-profit organizations. Our consultants work onsite several days per week at our client’s workplace and at our office in Wayne, NJ. 

Job Requirements

• Managing all aspects of human resources for clients with outsourcing contracts, including but not limited to: HR strategy, recruiting, benefits administration, employee relations, training, orientation/onboarding, HR compliance, succession planning, compensation and employee engagement
• Lead and support a variety of HR projects. A few examples of gente projects include:
• Conducting an HR audit to address compliance with HR-related regulations and the HR-department’s strategic value to the organization
• Recruiting a key leader
• Developing and implementing a new performance management system
• Creating or revising an employee handbook
• Supporting an HRIS implementation
• Bachelor’s degree required, advanced HR degree is a plus
• 5+ years of demonstrated excellence as an HR Generalist, Manager or Business Partner
• Must possess “consulting skills” and be viewed as a credible and knowledgeable HR professional by our clients
• Strong working knowledge of state and federal labor laws
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Professional HR Certification is strongly desired (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, and/or SHRM-CP)
