Job Description

Research Lab Technician

Granville, OH 43023

The Research Lab Technician actively participates technical support on new product, process, and input materials development projects for fiberglass composite and insulation products and/or systems. . The Research Lab Technician will focus to characterize theology, dynamic mechanical properties, thermal behavior of various polymer based binder systems using analytical equipment and summarize results on a weekly basis.

Responsibilities 

•Evaluate technology scale-up opportunities related to fiberglass based composites through lab scale prototyping and testing
Ensures rigorous compliance to standard safety procedures and corporate policies. 
• Applies knowledge in product performance to adequately lead and support development projects and initiatives pertaining to polymers 
• Works with partners and coordinates project activities with hands on support 
• Performs laboratory and application testing and applies understanding of standardized test methods to effectively test products 
• Fabricates product prototypes and conducts field evaluations often using novel materials supplied by vendors and/or external partners 
• Analyzes data from trials and product testing and produces reports 

Job Requirements

• A B.S degree in Materials science, Chemistry or Polymers with analytical lab experience is required. 
• 10-20% travel may be required 
• Mechanical, hands-on aptitude is needed along with a natural enthusiasm and ability to solicit customer insights in the field and collaborate with innovation partners
