Job Description

Description:
Works at the Divisional level to lead HR projects and staff in initiatives assigned by the Divisional Human Resources Director; directly supervises assigned non-exempt HR support staff in human resources functions; assists with auditing, evaluating and coordinating the annual performance evaluation process for Texas Division employees; develops and conducts human resources training for Divisional and field office staff.

Compensation:
$55,000 - $63,000; pay offer contingent on education and experience.

Job Requirements

Required Experience:
Three years work experience in the human resources field required, with two years of human resources supervisory experience preferred.

Knowledge of The Salvation Army mission, philosophy, culture, protocol, and organizational structure. Knowledge of employment law and human resources best practices. Knowledge of proper human resources investigatory techniques. Knowledge of general office practices and procedures. Knowledge of standard record keeping practices and procedures. Knowledge of FMLA, workers’ compensation, disability and insurance programs. Knowledge of Human Resource Information System. Skill in the development and creation of written briefings. 

Ability to learn and use Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and related computer software both effectively and efficiently. Ability to develop and present suitable training and development materials. Ability to prepare and maintain personnel records in an accurate, complete and timely manner. Ability to assist with communicating employment policies and procedures in a tactful and courteous manner. Ability to create spreadsheets and reports in an accurate and timely manner. Ability to maintain the confidentiality of personnel information.


Required Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources Management, or a closely related field required, with a master’s degree in the same preferred AND three years work experience in the human resources field required, with two years of human resources supervisory experience preferred, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
