Job Description

A national nonprofit organization with a conservative outlook is seeking a Vice President of Development to solicit an established portfolio of major donors.

Based in Northern Virginia and national in scope, this 501(c)3 is the recognized leader in its field. The organization has sustained consistent growth for over twenty years and is one of the most influential advocates for conservative and free market principles.

The Vice President of Development  is responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with the organization's most important donors, who give more than four million dollars annually.

The salary for this position will be based on the hired employee's experience and qualifications. There is a bonus that is targeted at $20,000 annually. In addition, the employer provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes: medical, disability and life insurance coverage; and an employer matched retirement plan.

Overnight travel is typically two to five nights per month.

Relocation, if required, will be paid by the employer.

Job Requirements

  • At least ten years of major donor fundraising experience with a nonprofit organization
  • One-on-one personal solicitation experience with individuals, foundations or corporations is required.
  • A personal philosophy compatible with a conservative or libertarian outlook
