Job Description

Petra Construction Corporation is a mid-sized general contracting / construction management firm seeking a Human Resources Manager who will work as an HR Department of One. The successful applicant will assume responsibility for administering and managing the Human Resources function.  This includes responsibility for all aspects of an employee’s work life cycle from recruitment through termination. Responsibilities include broker assisted procurement of benefits with the responsibility of preparing for, conducting and implementing open enrollment; responsibility for preparing, filing and distributing various legal notices and compliance documents; aspects of 401(k) administration; leave management; writing select employee communications; entering and managing data for HRIS and performance management systems; creating forms and generating reports from HRIS and performance management systems; analysis of data; developing, distributing and enforcing workplace policies; administering and overseeing Workers’ compensation managed care program and workers’ compensation claims; invoice approvals; procuring training and overseeing employee development and conducting in-house training; managing and overseeing the performance review process;  planning, overseeing and participating in certain employee events and, participating on various in-house committees. This position does not include responsibility for payroll.
