Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:              The Research Department Manager reports to the Director of Research and is responsible for oversight of the research coordinating sites.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:       

  • Direct manager to the research coordinators and assistants

  • Maintain professionalism and positive work environment for all offices

  • Provide ongoing training and needs assessments on a regular basis for staff

  • Ensure the research coordinators and assistant have the skills and resources necessary for success

  • Train all new research coordinators and assistants during 90 day probation period and ensure all training forms and policy are completed

  • Will ensure unblinded pharmacists are properly trained on clinical research and each individual protocol and sure that they are performing their duties properly

  • Will ensure imaging facilities are properly trained and equipped to conduct studies for all protocols

  • Ensure company SOPs are followed by staff in assigned office at all times, including all training and regulatory obligations

  • Oversee the conduct of all trials to ensure protocol compliance and enrollment goals are met in each office

  • Oversee and initiate the training for each protocol as it is started as a new study

  • Oversee onboarding of new staff to research, as staff are added to the site

  • Meet with each staff member monthly 1 on 1

  • Facilitate weekly meetings for research staff at each office

  • Communicate with Director & providers on weekly basis on site and staff performance

  • Ensure all site responsibilities and goals are met, including visit metric goals of 20-40 visits/months for staff and recruitment efforts take place

  • Facilitate recruitment initiatives, effort, and breakfasts are conducted

  • Ensure workloads are balanced among staff in each office

  • Will track and maintain balanced study assignment for coordinators, assistants, and PIs

  • Attend all SIV and PSV possible

  • Complete all feasibility questionnaires

  • Will triage issues for escalation from Clinical department to Director

  • Will step in as needed on clinical trials to perform coordinating functions when there is any lapse in coverage at the offices

  • Assist sites with any issues while at each office, to include any duty within the scope of research coordinator or assistant

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • 5 years experience clinical research

  • Clinical Research Coordinator Certification (CRCC)

  • Must have in-depth knowledge of medical and clinical terminology

  • Possess strong leadership & organizational skills

  • Ability to develop and maintain strong professional relationships with all providers and research subjects

  • Maintains confidentiality of patient and study information

  • Excellent working knowledge of ICH-GCP Guidelines and all Federal regulations

  • Understands and supports specific state and federal regulations governing clinical research

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to lift 20 pounds

  • Willing and able to travel

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree

  • Management experience and/or formal training
