This position is responsible for providing general support for the People's United Bank Operational Risk program while learning the fundamentals of Operational Risk. The Operational Risk Specialist will be exposed to all areas within Operational Risk including Risk Management, Control Assessment, Systems and Reporting, and Model Validation. This position will act as a floating resource, providing support across all teams while developing risk management skills and expertise.

Provides support and gains exposure to Risk Assessment, Control Assessment, Risk Systems and Reporting, and Model Validation; Receives regular direction from team managers.

Performs data entry into the Bank’s Governance, Risk, and Controls system (Issues, incidents, findings, process maps, policies, etc.).

Coordinates meetings, drafting agendas, and documenting committee minutes.

Performs control test scripts under the supervision of the Control Assurance Analyst.

Generates reports and performs simple system maintenance under the supervision of the Systems and Reporting Manager.

Serves as a backup GRC functional administrator.

Attends and documents risk assessment workshops under the supervision of the Directors of Risk Management.

Drafts business and technical documentation under supervision of the Head of Model Validation.

Works on special projects as assigned by the Chief Operational Risk Officer.

Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.

Job Requirements

College degree or relevant experience
1 – 3 years relevant experience.

Preferred knowledge skills and experience for this job (for job posting purposes)
Include educational levels, specializations, certifications, job related experience knowledge, skills and/or abilities that are preferred for this job

Bachelor’s degree required, with a focus on risk management, banking, finance, or MIS preferred
