Job Responsibilities


As a Customer Service Representative you will be responsible for the growth and retention of a designated customer base. All direct and extended functions of this role are critical to maintain a competitive edge and preserving the overall integrity of company services.


Additional responsibilities for this Logistics Customer Service role include, but are not limited to:


  • Working in conjunction with other internal departments to achieve territorial balance of capacity and freight
  • Taking total responsibility for ensuring all customer expectations are met
  • Requesting additional freight opportunities to eliminate empty miles when necessary
  • Researching and attempting to remedy service issues on a daily basis
  • Updating internal leadership and customer contacts regularly to prevent increased costs and/or charges to either party
  • Reviewing EDI data for accuracy before releasing verifications to the customer

We are seeking a self-motivated and results oriented Customer Service Representative who displays flexibility to function effectively in a constantly changing, customer service-oriented environment. You should also demonstrate the ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.


Specific qualifications for this Transportation / Supply Chain role include:


  • 3 years of related customer service experience within the transportation industry
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel functions is required
  • Ability to perform in a deadline-driven environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • Ability to handle high volumes of inbound and outbound email
  • Familiarity with AS/400 operating system, preferred
  • Awareness of time/distance geography, preferred
