Job Description

Position Summary:      The Facilities Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for plant maintenance, machine repair and construction projects related to the manufacturing of rapid diagnostic tests at Chembio. This position encompasses duties associated with the maintenance and repair of facilities and manufacturing equipment.

 

Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Performing updates, repairs and adjustments of facilities-related equipment.

  • Performing updates, repairs and adjustments of manufacturing equipment as need.

  • Completing maintenance work requests in a timely manner.

  • Performing preventative maintenance on all facilities-related equipment and maintaining records on file.

  • Performing projects as determined Lead Facilities Maintenance Mechanic and the Facilities and Maintenance Supervisor

  • Resolving plant-related safety issues.

  • Performs Lock Out Tag Out Procedure

  • Perform Pest Control Inspections

  • Insuring that interior and exterior appearance of the facility is within cleanliness guidelines.

  • Advise Lead Facilities Maintenance Mechanic of materials required for repair and maintenance of facilities equipment.

  • Fill in for co-workers as needed.

  • Other duties as needed to meet the needs of the department, plant or business.

Job Requirements

Qualifications Required:

°  Computer literate.

°  Minimum of 2 years facilities maintenance experience.

°  Knowledge of facilities-related systems such as HVAC, electrical, pneumatics, vacuum and the ability to adjust and repair such systems.

°  Basic knowledge of construction, plumbing, electrical.

°  Have good situational judgment and decision making skills.

°  Understand and follow company policies and procedures on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's & SOP’s).

°  Must be flexible to working hours & occasional weekends.

°  Knowledge of OSHA, building codes and other regulatory requirements.
