Job Description

This position is for an experienced business analyst with a strong ability to analyse and write requirements for business-critical systems which sets the data elements and model for reference data across the enterprise. This is an exciting role as part of our PME ( "Product Master Environment") development team, delivering a strategic Product Data Solution for our Equities business. PME is the firm-wide provider of product (financial security) & pricing reference data, which is critical to 400+ consuming applications spanning multiple lines of business (Global Markets, Global Wealth & Investment Management, etc) from the front office (trading apps, etc) to back office operations and risk systems.

The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work with a great team of individuals working on a cutting edge technology stack and agile delivery teams. Due to the dynamic work environment we expect new joiners to be flexible, self-sufficient with very strong problem solving skills and ability to learn our business, data and technology stack with minimal supervision.
You will be working on reference data systems which support all the trading operations for Client's global markets business. You will be working on strategic technology platform which has an exciting roadmap, enriching it with numerous exchange data feeds so as to continue to simply and improve the technology systems processing and product reference data distribution APIs. We offer a collaborative working environment in which you can solve challenging technology problems by working as a team. The Global Markets Reference Data Technology group operates with a diverse set of technologies. Being part of this group will offer a suitable candidate a chance to diversify their business domain and technical skill set.

As the Senior Technical Business Analyst your main responsibilities will involve:
o Analysis and requirements documentation for rewriting / migrating functionality and feeds of a legacy system to our strategic platforms. Includes feeds from Bloomberg, Reuters, security exchanges, and other 3rd party data vendors.
o Working with the development leads to document requirements for utility tools to reduce time to market for onboarding new feeds, including data quality monitoring, data reconciliation, and automated test tools.
o Analysis and documentation of new features to the core reference data platform to manage data quality and analytics.
o Creation and organisation of JIRAs which break down the entire project plan and requirements.


Job Requirements

As Senior Technical Business Analyst your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
o Financial securities knowledge, especially in the equities domain and vendor data feeds
o Ability to analyse tradable security data attributes for mappings and implementation work
o Strong written documentation skills with good technical understanding of Java based applications
o Strong Oracle & SQL and understanding of relational data models and ability to write SQL
o Strong problem-solving and communication skills and enjoys a collaborative environment
o Flexible, self-starter, fast-learner
o Analysis and requirements documentation experience for enhancing and maintaining mission-critical software in a fast-paced environment

A successful candidate will have exposure to the following skills as part of the role, so prior experience would be great but not required.
o Understanding of Java programming
o Understanding of Informatica ETL
o Hadoop software stackc
