Job Description

ChildNet Youth and Family Services, Inc is currently seeking a Transportation Program Support position for our Behavioral Health Services program in Long Beach, CA.

Behavioral Health Services (BHS) provides comprehensive mental health services, including individual and group therapy for at-risk children and their families.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Transportation Program Support position shall provide support in the transportation department, and as needed, provided transportation to BHS clients. This position will be required to work varying shifts and will need to work overtime based on business necessity.

The Transportation Program Support will be responsible form but not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Update and create logs and reports for activities such as mileage & maintenance, drive times, cancellations, errors, etc. to maximize performance and reduce down time.
  • Monitor driver schedules and locations via GPS System and 2-Way Radio to ensure clients are being transported or other errands are being performed efficiently and timely.
  • Plan and coordinate weekly transportation meetings to review issues and keep communication open and ongoing within the team. Document discussions on agendas and keep a filing system.
  • Electronically file and archive all transportation documentation and forms, reports and logs.
  • Assist Business Office Manager with updating and keeping updated the transportation handbook and guidelines for the department's processes.
  • Meet with the Business Office Manager to report the progress of the department on a weekly basis.
  • Provide creative problem solving and feedback on improving procedures of the department.
  • Ensure Transportation Calendars have been appropriately logged with transportation details, request and authorization attachments daily.
  • Transport clients to & from the facility when additional drivers are needed, as well as providing transportation for other departments within the organization when needed.
  • Conduct Inter-Departmental and Post Office mail deliveries.
  • Provide administrative support as needed.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

The BHS Transportation Program Support must possess:
  1. High school diploma (or GED).
  2. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with a high proficiency in Outlook.
  3. Ability to type a minimum of 50 WPM.
  4. Knowledge of various web browsers/search engines such as Internet Explorer, Google and Firefox and should be able to research and find information on the internet or other sources as needed.
  5. Tech savviness and knowledge of various electronic devices such as computers, tablets, cell phones, navigation and GPS programs.
  6. Knowledge of California driving laws and safe driving practices.
  7. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and carry out tasks with minimal oversight.
  8. Ability to communicate in English, clearly and effectively, both written and verbally.
  9. Bilingual proficiency in speaking, reading, writing and understanding Spanish is preferred.

All employees must pass an employment TB, drug screen, physical exam and Dept. of Justice/FBI/Child Abuse Index Search clearance. Underwriting requirements of this agency include keeping valid auto insurance on file and maintaining a good driving record while employed.
