Job Description

Consider joining the talented staff at HIMSS as the Manager, Human Resources. The main purpose of this position is to provide generalist support to a business unit and manage HIMSS EEO/Affirmative Action reporting and compliance.  In addition, this individual will provide project support for internal employee engagement surveys, and will manage ADP reporting activities.  Working independently, this position oversees and performs a number of activities that require a firm understanding of HR processes, client support activities, and human resources affirmative action obligations.   This position will receive projects and take direction from both the VP and Director of Human Resources.

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Supports employees and supervisors within assigned department or business group with all core HR responsibilities.  This includes employee relations, recruitment, talent management, benefit and other employee inquiries and key HR activities. Develop effective recruitment strategies that result in maintaining a highly qualified, diverse workforce. 

  • Responsible for Talent Management activities for assigned unit including evaluation process completion and performance plans. 

  • Responds to employee inquiries and directs/advises them to the appropriate channel for resolution.

  • Ensures compliance with all employment, wage and hour and EEO/Affirmative Action laws. Manage leaves of absence and short and long-term disability cases.

  • Manage employee relations issues, conduct investigations to assess and recommend specific outcomes. 

  • Collaborate with employees and managers to achieve a high performing and highly engaged workforce.  Conduct exit interviews and gather data, identify and report trends.  

  • Manages the collection and analysis of information for Human Resources’ data needs.  Identifies, tracks and reports key HR metrics in support of the Human Resources function. Creates reports and/or queries to meet varying data needs.

  • Manages the Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action Programs under the direction of the EEO Coordinator (HIMSS VP HR & Facilities).  Manages and maintains the applicant data collection process and diversity online vendor.  Conducts analysis throughout the year and interacts with recruitment sources to communicate HIMSS program. Monitors compliance of HR activities to ensure they are performed in accordance will all laws and rules and regulations.  Directs Human Resources staff to prepare and ensure quarterly gathering and reporting of applicant flow data. 

  • Collects and analyzes retention, promotion, turnover, hires and demographic data on employees in order to complete annual reports required by various federal and state agencies. Prepares government reports and ensures reports such as 5500s, SARs, EEO-1, VETS 100 and other are filed and distributed in accordance with due dates.

  • Ensure the confidentiality of all HR-related information.

Job Requirements

Your Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Organizational Development, Business, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • A minimum of five (5) years HR experience working in a dynamic HR environment with experience in employment and recruitment activities, EEO/AA compensation administration.   Must have prior experience in working with an AAP. Must be knowledgeable of employment and EEO/Affirmative Action laws.  A strong working knowledge of insurance regulations; benefit and wage & hour laws, and related state and federal regulations.

  • Must have prior experience in preparing, monitoring and managing affirmative action programs.

  • Prior experience managing or working with an HRIS and generating management reports as required.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills are necessary. 

  • Must be highly organized, detail oriented, and able to prioritize work independently and exercise discretion and judgment.

  • Excellent verbal/written and presentation skills are essential

  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel and with HR systems.

  • Human Resources certification such as PHR, desirable.

  • Prior experience working in a multi-state environment preferred.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, time sensitive and confidential environment.
