Job Description

An established MEP Design firm is seeking to add to it's growing team.  

JOB DESCRIPTION

 

This position designs mechanical and HVAC systems municipal, educational, health care and commercial mixed use retail projects.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design HVAC and plumbing project systems, with minimal direction and supervision.
  • Layout floor plans, select equipment, create details, riser diagrams, schematics, edit specifications, and formulate any supporting documentation required for completing mechanical project designs.
  • Perform all necessary calculations to support system designs such as heating/cooling loads and hydraulic, pressure loss and pump head calculations.
  • Collaborate with project managers in a multi-disciplinary MEP design environment.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, Revit and Trane Trace applications to complete setup, design and calculations.
  • Perform CA tasks, review submittals/shop drawings, respond to RFIs and attend CA meetings.
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate field installations and conduct field observations.

Job Requirements



QUALIFICATIONS

  • 6-8 years experience designing Mechanical (HVAC and Plumbing) projects
  • Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
  • Or, if not degreed, commensurate training and experience
  • Working knowledge of MEP building code compliance / requirements
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required
  • Proficiency in Revit and Trane Trace required.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with peers, clients and vendors
  • Outstanding organizational skills and ability to accurate multi-task project deadlines
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and Windows 7
  • Current valid Driver’s License and insurable driving record
