Job Description

Summary: The Information Technology Manager is responsible for the setup and maintenance of network systems and oversees FDBT's Computer Operations, Systems and programming, Technical Support Services, Communication Network and User services. The incumbent will manage the department's budget, implement new system software programs (e.g., SAP), develop disaster recovery plans, and manage back up and security systems. 
Essential Functions:
  • Responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of information systems best suited to the operational needs of FDBT by consulting with users, information technology staff, and FDB information technology experts in developing, programming, testing, writing documentation and training staff.
  • Maintains FDBT's effectiveness and efficiency by defining, delivering, and supporting strategic plans for implementing information technologies.
  • Identifies and procures the hardware and software needed to satisfy user requirements.
  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and supervises information systems personnel, including contractors (if needed) to design, develop, implement, operate, and administer computer and telecommunications software, networks, and information systems..
  • Supports the IT staff in installing, configuring, testing, maintaining and troubleshooting network hardware and software.
  • Responsible for the introduction of new systems and hardware/software rollouts.
  • Responsible for the implementation of SAP as well as training others on the applications of the system.
  • Preserves assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security and structures in conjunction with overall FDB procedures.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures for electronic data processing and computer systems operations.
  • Performs cost/benefit analysis of IT projects and prepares/presents analysis to senior management for consideration.
  • Manages FDBT's Building Information Management System (BIMS).
  • Manages the installation, troubleshooting, and operation of the company's electronic mail and domain name systems, monitoring performance, reviewing and scheduling upgrades according to the standards set by the company.
  • Oversees the customization and adaptation of existing programs to meet users' requirements.
  • Analyzes and documents problems with vendor-supplied software, and oversees the documentation development for submission of software problems to vendor; contacts outside resources for input into resolving software problems, and applies corrective action.
  • Support Automation on implementations on systems that require integration with business networks.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Experience in implementation of new software programs, such as SAP, PeopleSoft, LIMS, etc.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Detail oriented and accurate.
  • Ability to quickly identify, analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize work assignments with little supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in work environment, manage competing demands and handle frequent change, delays or unexpected events.
  • Proficient in computer hardware and software systems and programs; computer networks, network administration and installation; computer troubleshooting; computer viruses and security; etc.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays as needed; may be required to be on call (24/7).

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineer, or Business Administration with a minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience of which two (2) years must have been in a management/supervisory role.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree

  • cGMP experience
