Job Description

We are currently seeking an Accounting Manager on a temporary basis. Candidate will be responsible for key accounting processes that ensure the timely and accurate processing, recording and reporting of financial transactions in accordance with US GAAP standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

:

  • Responsible for various aspects of corporate accounting including preparation of journal entries and supporting schedules for acquisition/disposition accounting and share-based compensation accounting, including plan activity, calculation of share-based compensation expense and reconciliation of all equity-related transactions
  • Responsible for consolidated debt reporting, including maintaining debt management system, compliance with debt covenant requirements, fair value of debt reporting and prepayment estimates
  • Prepare the statement of cash flows and statement of changes in equity in accordance with US GAAP
  • Prepare financial statement information and SEC disclosures, ensuring they are supported with clear and well-organized supporting documentation including detailed financial calculations and analyses for complex accounting areas (earnings per share, share-based compensation, shareholders' equity, noncontrolling interest, debt and interest expense)
  • Review and analyze transactions and financial data to ensure reasonableness, accuracy, consistency and property application of GAAP supporting the related SEC filings
  • Prepare and maintain consolidated financial statement reconciliations and supporting schedules
  • Compile variance analysis on a consolidated basis for monthly and quarterly internal reporting
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies and proactively question processes and procedures and implement change to gain efficiencies and streamline workflows
  • Maintain current knowledge of US GAAP and SEC requirements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other groups (i.e. Accounts payable, financial strategic planning and property accounting) to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information in internal/external reporting
  • Responsible for quarterly debt covenant reporting for revolving credit facility, including analysis of results from detailed testing of key liquidity/debt ratios
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of key activities associated with the internal and external reporting processes
  • Maintain and monitor compliance with internal controls, policies and procedures including assurance that all relevant controls are documented and followed
  • Support the external audit and quarterly review process by resolving questions and providing requested schedules and support in a timely manner
  • Maintain current knowledge of US GAAP and SEC requirements
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with other groups (i.e. Accounts payable, financial strategic planning and property accounting) to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial information in internal/external reporting

Job Qualifications:

Required

  • Strong analytical and problem solving abilities, with a desire and commitment to take full ownership and accountability for his/her area of responsibility
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable interfacing with people from different levels and functions in the organization
  • Exhibits strong technical accounting skills demonstrated by thorough US GAAP accounting and financial reporting knowledge
  • Team player who is able to operative effectively and work collaboratively in a fast paced, changing environment

Education/Experience

:

Required

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from four-year college in Accounting, Finance or other related field of study
  • Thorough knowledge of GAAP accounting practices and procedures

Preferred

  • Public accounting experience
  • Experience with SEC clients
  • Retail real estate industry experience
  • CPA license
