Job Description

Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the proper documentation of all franchise activity that requires legal administration and compliance with franchise law and Denny's internal policy.


Essential Functions (Key Responsibilities):

Prepares and issues legal documents for new and existing franchises (Franchise agreements, Credit Card agreements, Assignment agreements, Termination agreements, Successor or Renewal agreements, & MGIP agreements and related documents).

Manages and tracks turnover of company unit to franchise unit during refranchising process.

Manages and tracks franchise agreement terms and renewals.

Collects franchise and training fees.

Manages and tracks assignment requests.

Manages and tracks closure requests.

Manages and tracks development agreements.

Maintains franchise legal database.

Manages Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD) compliance, including re-disclosure and issuing FDDs to new franchise candidates.

Assists in updating FDD.

Assists with department document imaging process.

Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor's degree, paralegal certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience::

Experience and/or knowledge of Real Estate transactions,lease/sublease handling, or franchise administration preferred.


Required Knowledge and Skills:

Thorough working knowledge of Windows-based computer software.

Effective and consistent planning, problem solving and analytical skills.

Demonstrate a positive attitude, the ability to work with others and a strong desire to learn.

Self-motivated, requiring limited supervision within area of responsibility.

May develop written procedures, work flow plans or other systems for area of expertise.
