WSP USA has an immediate opening in our downtown Honolulu office for a Civil Engineer II. This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference and keep our beautiful waters clean.

The primary responsibilities include performing various tasks including assisting with environmental compliance for projects in design and in construction; preparing and reviewing Site-Specific Best Management Practices (SSBMP) Plans and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs); developing Notice of Intents (NOIs) for NPDES Permits, including site visits, producing drainage mapping and performing runoff calculations; performing compliance inspections of Construction BMPs in the field and producing BMP inspection reports; identifying deficiencies in the BMPs implemented in the field; conducting training sessions; attending meetings and coordinating with clients and contractors; and other various tasks as required.

Job Requirements

.
  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in highway/roadway design or stormwater/drainage design. Construction field experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in MicroStation; AutoCAD; ArcGIS; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF-editing programs is preferred
  • An excellent communicator; excellent reading and writing skills
  • An active team player; works well with others
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive
  • Professional Civil Engineer Registration for Hawaii preferred, EIT required
