POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing and/or Program Director, provides support to residents and documentation of self medication.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Support residents in the (self) administration of medication

•Documentation of (self) administration of medication

•Performs TB and Drug screenings on all residents within 72 hours of admissions

•Performs routine urine drug screens

•Schedules and coordinates all medical appointments, and provides periodic follow-up

•Monitors ongoing/chronic medical problems

•Handles minor needs of residents including attending to minor injuries, administering routine medications

•Maintains all medical records

REQUIREMENT:

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS

•Graduate from an accredited nursing program

•Current NYS license

•Qualified by training, education, and experience in providing nursing care to chemically addicted residents and residents withdrawing from alcohol and or drugs

•Current certification in CPR, Child Abuse and Infection Control

EXPERIENCE

•Minimum of three (3) years experience in addictions/psychiatric nursing

•Experience in nursing protocols, patient assessment

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Ensure patient confidentiality in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations

•Computer skills, ie: Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of EMR systems

SCHEDULE:

MON-FRI: 3:30pm-12:00am
