Job Description

Information Technology Support Specialist

The Information Technology Support Specialist will provide outstanding technical end user support for Health e(fx) offices in Minneapolis, Iowa, and Thunder Bay. The position will be located at our Minneapolis headquarters with periodic travel to our Iowa office. The ideal candidate will have experience with Amazon Web Services, Active Directory, Office365, SharePoint, Exchange, IP Telephony, Mobile devices and general Windows/Mac operating environment, business applications, peripherals and infrastructure.


  • Maintain a high level of expertise in Windows Security, Active Directory, System Center, Office 365, and other Microsoft infrastructure technologies.
  • Administration of Active Directory and other Windows-based systems.
  • Establish and maintain key client interaction and support, providing administrative reporting on the infrastructure to IT Services management.
  • Collaborate with other colleagues, offices and system stakeholders.
  • Implement processes and procedures for the Windows infrastructure and systems as directed and provide input on the development of processes and procedures.
  • Work with the team to collaborate on future strategy and new technology directions.
  • Collaborate to define and recommend hardware and software requirements or upgrades appropriate to business needs and work with team and vendors to implement and maintain those solutions.
  • Work as part of a team assisting with operational and project tasks.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant experience.
  • At least three years of technical work experience.
  • Strong understanding of information technology approaches, applications, tools, and methodologies used to employ and secure Windows-based systems.
  • Knowledge of architecture and interrelationships (technical and functional).
  • Effective and timely communication is required, including understanding business objectives and developing operational strategies to meet those objectives.
  • Ability to combine information technologies to create solutions for problems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in the following areas:
    • Active Directory
    • Windows Security Architecture
    • Group Policy Objects
    • Directory Services
    • Core Windows Services and Protocols
    • Experienced in the operation of SharePoint online
    • Automation Scripting (PowerShell)
  • Oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and the ability to work calmly and effectively in pressure situations and manage time effectively in a changing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and securing Windows solutions that meet complex requirements and environments and ability to focus on both technical and business objectives, and the problems to be solved.
  • Ability to operate within a collaborative team framework both in the workgroup and across the company.
  • Ability to creatively apply a unique combination of skills & knowledge to the support and maintenance of the Health e(fx) systems environment.
  • Must be able to work as an independent, productive, responsible, self-motivated member of operational and project teams, often simultaneously.
  • Experience working with multiple locations.

Additional Desired Skills:

  • Development skills are a plus (Visual Basic, C#, C++, .NET)
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management is a plus
