Compensation: $125,000.00 to $180,000.00 per year

Title: Director of Revenue Accounting Location: Midland, TX - Relocation Assistance available Summary Director is responsible for providing the strategic expertise and vision to lead the Midland Revenue Accounting Department. The Director will be responsible for Revenue Accounting to support the growing needs of the organization, compliance with internal control procedures, processing Revenues, Severance Taxes, Federal and State Royalties and State Escheatment out of Revenue Suspense in a timely manner and monitoring metrics, developing Revenue departmental personnel, fielding resolving questions and issues presented, managing relationships with other internal departments, and identifying and executing improvement/enhancement projects. Key Responsibilities Strategic Planning •Effectively oversee Midland Revenue Accounting Department •Assess and evaluate existing department procedures and processes •Identify innovation and process improvement opportunities •Lead projects that implement process, procedure, system and quality improvement initiatives •Monitor department budget, staffing levels and structure •Identify system design and implementation opportunities Supervising Revenue, Severance Tax, Revenue Suspense, Escheat and Federal/State Royalty •Identify and evaluate key department metrics •Establish and monitor reporting deadlines •Ensure daily compliance with Code of Conduct, policies, procedures, internal controls and GAAP •Review Manager level journal entries and Revenue related account reconciliations, etc. meeting all quarterly or yearly deadlines •Proactively manage department upwards and downwards •Effectively delegate assignments/responsibilities Personnel Development People Management •Implement development and training opportunities within the department •Implement cross-training / rotational opportunities within department •Train manager(s)/supervisor(s) as needed on applicable systems and Revenue processes Managing Relationships •Interact with all accounting and operational teams: Treasury, Corporate Accounting, Financial Reporting, IT, Asset Operations, JIB/Revenue Accounting, Tax, HR/Administration, Legal, Land and Land Division Order in order to coordinate initiatives and resolve all issues •Facilitate, lead and/or actively participate in department and/or company activities, teams and/or initiatives •Interacts with internal and external auditor to fulfill/resolve questions and document requests •Interact with outside working or royalty owners to fulfill/resolve questions and document requests

Job Requirements

Qualifications •Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Masters preferred •CPA preferred •Must have at least 10 years cumulative experience working in Accounting; minimum of 8 years Big 4 experience in those areas may be considered in lieu of 10 years' experience •5 years' experience supervising a team is required. •A minimum of 3 years oil gas related accounting experience preferred •Excellent written verbal communication, leadership, process improvement, organization, planning and supervisor skills are required •Must be able to effectively delegate and develop the team's capabilities •Knowledge of Oracle, Quorum (QRA, TIPS) and Allegro are a plus Relocation is available
