Through a formal call program, will expand a portfolio of clients by effectively cross-selling opportunities for each assigned relationship to include, but not limited to: credit capital markets services, treasury management services, insurance, M&T Investment Group and employee benefits products
Works with business officials of local government organizations and school districts, their financial advisors and bond counsel, to procure negotiated bond underwriting business
Being an advisor to clients on all financial needs with an increased emphasis on municipal investment banking.
Follows market trends and developments to increase the Bank’s business in established and developing markets.
Represents the Bank in civic and community activities.Minimum Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s degree or in lieu of a bachelors, four years of relevant work experience.
Five years’ experience in government banking lending or similar field.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong financial acumen.
Proven relationship building and business partnering skills.
Must be self-motivated and proactive.
Extensive knowledge of credit and non-credit products.Ideal Qualifications Preferred:
Experience structuring tax-exempt and taxable fixed rate bond issues and variable rate debt.
Proven track record with refinancing transactions, debt restructurings for local governments.
Prior public finance experience supporting underwriting and financial advisory engagements.
In market experience.
