Job Description

Our client is one of the largest consumer product organizations that is well known in their industry. As they continue to expand and cement their status as the leading company in their industry, they are committed to hiring top talent for their customer support team. They are currently in search of a Customer Service Manager to lead this new team at their office in the near northern suburbs of Chicago!

As a Customer Service Manager, you will provide leadership and direction to a small team of high-potential, knowledgeable customer account specialists. This is a hands-on managerial role where you will work in the trenches with your team while also collaborating with executive leadership to enforce best practices and implement change.

Customer Service Manager Responsibilities:

  • Coach, motivate, and develop a team of account managers
  • Communicate with high-profile customers and authorize major transactions
  • Analyze performance reports and make recommendations to drive process improvements
  • Work cross functionally with internal departments
  • Establish and enforce best practices
  • Participate in senior management meetings and collaborate with fellow leaders

Customer Service Manager Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of five years of experience supervising a team of customer service/inside sales/order entry representatives consisting of at least seven individuals
  • Proven experience using data to drive team performance and improve customer satisfaction
  • Proven track record of managing people and developing others
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience using EDI strongly preferred
  • Prior experience interviewing and hiring employees
  • Excellent computer skills are required
