Responsibilities and Qualifications:
The Payroll Director is responsible for the oversight of the payroll processing, reporting and compliance. This includes oversight of payroll processing in accordance with company policy, ensuring key controls are followed, processing within the published service level agreement, training new associates, identifying ways to increase productivity while ensuring minimal errors and maintaining a high level of customer service.
 
Essential Requirements
  • 5+ Years of Payroll Management experience in a company with 5,000 – 10,000 employees
  • Ultimate Software experience a plus
  • A solid understanding of payroll process and tax filing
  • Acute attention to detail, process and organization
  • Advanced Excel and MS Office skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screens (background & drug test)
Position Responsibilities
  • Oversee payroll processing for the payroll processing of the dealerships, DSS and DSC
  • Ensure payroll is being processed timely and within company guidelines
  • Ensure all key/internal controls are maintained
  • Ensures conformance with all laws and regulations
  • Ensure general ledger entries are posted timely and accurately
  • Monthly intercompany reconciliations
  • Review and approve payroll audit trail for all employee file updates
  • Develop training programs and implement continuous training for all payroll associates
  • Identify process improvement and develop plans to implement
  • Continuously enhance the payroll control environment
  • Develop solid communication plan between payroll department associates, corporate and dealerships associates
  • Maintain payroll system set ups and job codes in accordance with company policy
  • Coordinate requests from auditors, internal, external and regulatory agencies
  • Develop action plans to address audit controls and recommendations
  • Keeps current on technical developments in the field including payroll re, human resources and tax regulations
  • Set goals and hold routine meetings for all direct reports
