Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, review, analyze, and evaluate delinquent government portfolio, from date of default through final loss analysis.

  • Take action to meet government timeframes (i.e. 1st legal, conveyance, follow-up, escalations, client notices).

  • Prepare loss analysis on completed foreclosures, comparing contractual versus non-contractual loss; type of loss; and reconciliation of submitted claim to actual claim funds received.

  • Identify and oversee the need and processing of billing back attorneys and vendors for losses incurred by company.

  • Develop and produce monthly scorecard based on avoidable vs. unavoidable losses, by processor.

  • Assist in the preparation of files for the annual HUD audit.

  • Create reporting strategies to support Default Management; track department activity for government portfolio and provide daily/monthly reporting to management and clients.

  • Work with Risk Management department in providing all required data for analysis.

  • Work closely with department management to identify opportunity for process improvement.

  • Develop and maintain quality procedures and measures for the government portfolio to ensure appropriate documentation is in place.

  • Other duties/projects as assigned.

                                                                                                    

Job Requirements

  • 4 year college degree preferred

  • 4 - 5 years related default servicing experience within the mortgage banking industry

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Package including Access

  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within mortgage servicing

  • Knowledge of FHA/VA default servicing guidelines

  • Ability to rely on instructions and guided by corporate goals and objectives to perform the functions of the job

  • Ability to work with all levels of individuals as a team player or in a leadership role

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task

  • Self-motivated with ability to work under timelines without direct supervision
