Responsible for supporting quality functions including food safety systems and programs along with compliance
Leads and supervises quality staff. This includes scheduling, approving time records, periodic evaluation, counseling, and performance documentation. Responsible for conducting departmental and job specific training
Conducts laboratory analyses and investigations
Demonstrates knowledge of product and processes, and their impact on overall quality
Provides technical assistance to quality function and operations
This person will be supervising with quality issues and performing quality checks and uploading findings into the system. They will be responsible for going out on to the plant floor to complete the checks and then move into the office where they will use the LIMS system to document the checks. It will be able 80% of the time on the floor and 20% of the time doing documentation
Once trained they will be inputting findings for sensory test into the data base. Pulling samples off the line and completing quality checks such as granulation, moisture analysis, metal testing, pick tests, performing bag weight checks, dry ingredient audits, swabbing, calibrations, raw material inspections, and magnet testing
Documentation will be a big part of the role, making sure the quality checks have been recorded and documentation correctly to ensure everything is in line for any GMP audits. The QC technician will be responsible for enforcing all GMP rules and regulations. This person needs to be comfortable with confrontation and talking to the management team.
Ideal candidate will have a Bachelors in Life Sciences and at least 3 years of ood experience.
