The Director of Bank Technology position determines long-term technology information needs for the Bank, and develops overall strategy for systems development and hardware integration and acquisition.

  • Directs the I/S Operation strategic planning process and through the translation of the vision and strategy, formulates system strategies, operational plans, business transformation initiatives and short/long-term enterprise wide processes, plans and systems.
  • Maximizes profitability through establishing appropriate measures and a continuous review of performance towards meeting business and operational objectives.
  • Directs, coordinates and administers all aspects of Mutual of Omaha Bank IS Operations in compliance with goals, policies and objectives established by the Bank executive management and Board of Directors.
  • Develops Bank policies and procedures for IS operational processes in order to ensure optimization and compliance with established standards and regulations.
  • Develops and maintains a competitive advantage through the integration of systems, emerging technologies and processes resulting an increase in operational efficiencies, productivity and organizational effectiveness.
  • Develops and maintains effective organizational relationships.
  • Oversees the management, currency, strategy and integration of enterprise wide technology capabilities through systems and emerging technologies.
  • Partners with business leaders to assess impact of current and future technologies on strategic business needs.
  • Influences strategic business decisions and collaborates with all business areas by developing systems and technologies strategies and simplifying processes to influence and support operational growth initiatives.
  • Oversees the management of enterprise engineering processes and methodologies. Ensures integrity of the methodology and approach and alignment with strategic goals and objectives positively impacting growth and profitability.
  • Plans, staffs, directs and engages resources in a manner that is both cost-effective and maintains an engaged and accountable workforce.
  • Develops and maintains a fair and equitable working environment.
  • Complies with all related Federal, State and Industry laws and regulations pertaining to Banking. 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field.
  • 10 years of progressive systems/technology experience in a world-class financial services institution or regulated corporation.
  • 8 years working in a leadership capacity to include a minimum of 5 years experience managing a team of IS Managers from multiple disciplines.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including the ability to set a strategic vision and appropriate goals for the Information Services function, to align the appropriate resources and leaders to support business needs.
  • Rigorous analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to serve as a thought leader for management and as a mentor on complex matters.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate at a level appropriate to the audience (direct reports, peers and executive leadership).
  • This position may require frequent standing or walking for extended periods of time.
  • This position requires up to 50% travel, which may include flying and/or driving and some over night stays. 

  • 5 years of banking experience
  • Proven experience and expertise in leading organizational transformation
