SRP, based in Phoenix, was established in 1903 as the nation's first multipurpose reclamation project authorized under the National Reclamation Act.
Today, SRP is the nation's third-largest public power utility and one of Arizona's largest water suppliers, providing power to customers throughout a 2,900-square-mile service territory in central Arizona.
In addition to working for one of Arizona's major employers, you will benefit from all the other advantages of a career at SRP including our recreation and fitness facilities, competitive salaries and comprehensive benefits package.
SRP offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package. Eligible employees are covered on their first day of employment for most benefits.
SRP recognizes work output, rewarding skill, initiative, teamwork and flexibility. When dollars are available, a salaried pay system allows supervisors to give a little more each year to employees who demonstrate those competencies.
Pay raises for hourly employees are set by contract, but the opportunities to advance ride on the same characteristics.
Incentive Pay Plan
SRP offers an Incentive Pay Plan that is tied to SRP’s operating margin and employee performance. If SRP exceeds its projected target, the IPP is funded and awards of up to 9% of regular pay are based on performance measures. The IPP goals focus on customer service satisfaction, safety and completion of individual goals.
SRP Health Care Program
All regular full-time, 3/4-time, and 1/2-time employees are eligible to participate in the SRP Health Care Program. Eligible employees can choose between three different medical options, two dental options, and a medical reimbursement account. SRP also offers vision and hearing aid benefits to eligible employees. Some options require employees to contribute to the cost of the benefit. Other plan options, including single medical and dental options, are provided to eligible employees at no cost.
SRP offers several pre-tax benefits to eligible employees. Eligible employees can choose from before-tax and after tax benefits under the SRP Health Care Program, the SRP Medical Reimbursement Tax Saver Plan, and the SRP Dependent Care Assistance Tax Saver Plan. These Tax Saver Accounts (TSAs) allow eligible employees to pay for out-of-pocket health care and dependent care expenses with pre-tax dollars.
SRP's Health Services department sponsors a health screening program (CHAMP) for employees once a year.
SRP employees' 401(k) plan
All SRP employees are eligible to participate on their first day of employment. SRP makes matching contributions up to the first 6% of savings after one year of service. Employees are 100% vested in their own contributions and their earnings, SRP's matching contributions, and the earning thereon. The Plan has withdrawal and loan features.
Paid vacation is available after the first six months of employment to all eligible employeees. Employees with less than 5 years of service are eligible to take two weeks of paid vacation each year. Additional weeks become available as service increases.
SRP observes eight scheduled holidays each year and three flexible holidays. There is no waiting period to be eligible for any of SRP's eight scheduled holidays. After six months of employment, employees become eligible for the flexible holidays.
Sick leave accumulates at a rate of 1 day per month for regular full-time employees. The accumulation rate for 3/4-time and 1/2-time employees is pro-rated. Employees are eligible for sick leave pay after 6 months of employment.
Life insurance programs
SRP offers a life and accidental death and dismemberment (AD&D) insurance program. Eligible employees are automatically enrolled in the basic life and AD&D program. Eligible employees can also elect additional levels of life insurance and dependent life insurance by paying a premium.
Short-term disability: This coverage provides income protection of 50% of an eligible employee's weekly base pay after 21 calendar days of approved disability, or after all accumulated sick time is used, whichever is longer. The premium for this benefit is paid by the employee.
Long-term disability: This coverage provides income protection of 60% of an employee's monthly base salary after 90 calendar days of approved disability. SRP pays 100% of the premium.
Optional Long-term disability: Eligible employees can elect and pay the premium for optional long-term disability (LTD) coverage. Optional LTD provides an additional 10% of coverage, bringing the LTD benefits to 70%.
